Briefly: Rage Against the Machine, Taking Back Sunday, Foo Fighters, Goo Goo Dolls

Rage Against the Machine is fueling speculation that its recent reunion will extend beyond a handful of spring and summer performances by launching a cryptic new website.

RATM08247.com--an offshoot of the group's official site, RATM.com--houses a pair of countdown clocks, one of which is ticking down to Aug. 24, 2007 (thus the domain name), and the other of which will hit zero next Monday (6/11).

The new site is registered to concert-promotion juggernaut Live Nation, which suggests that Monday may bring the announcement of a full-blown Rage tour.

Rage Against the Machine--Zack de la Rocha (vocals), Tom Morello (guitar), Brad Wilk (drums) and Tim Commerford (bass)--hit the stage at last month's Coachella festival for its first performance since de la Rocha's 2000 exit. The band has also signed on for a handful of July and August shows as part of the Rock the Bells tour.

Rockers Taking Back Sunday have signed on to headline a handful of concerts for Boost Mobile RockCorps (BMRC), an organization that bills itself as a "national youth volunteerism movement that harnesses the power of music to motivate young people to get involved in their communities," according to a press release.

The upcoming shows--which will take place June 30 and July 1 in Portland, OR; July 14-15 in Houston; July 21-22 in Philadelphia; and July 28-29 in Chicago--are free to anyone who volunteers four hours of community service to BMRC projects. Details are available at BMRC's website.

Foo Fighters will mark the 10th anniversary of their multi-platinum sophomore album, "The Colour and the Shape," by issuing a remastered version of the collection. The July 10 release will feature the original album's 13 tracks, plus new liner notes and six bonus cuts comprising cover versions and b-sides, according to a press release.

The Goo Goo Dolls have contributed a new song titled "Before It's Too Late" to the forthcoming soundtrack to "Transformers," a Michael Bay-directed, live-action adaptation of the popular '80s-era science-fiction cartoon. The cut, which is available now via Apple's iTunes Music Store, is the leadoff single from the set, which is due in stores July 3 and also features music from Linkin Park , Smashing Pumpkins, The Used, HIM and MuteMath, according to a press release.
