Album Chart: Jonas Brothers make a splash
The Jonas Brothers top the new US album chart with their third album, "A Little Bit Longer," which sold 525,000 copies during its first week in stores.
According to Billboard.com, that showing marks the third biggest sales week for any album this year, behind Lil Wayne 's "Tha Carter III" (which sold 1 million-plus copies during its first week out) and Coldplay 's "Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends" (721,000).
Meanwhile, the Jonas Brothers' self-titled sophomore album got a sales boost this week as well, selling 31,000 copies to claim the No. 10 position on The Billboard 200 album chart. Billboard bases its flagship album chart on Nielsen SoundScan retail reports.
The group's chart dominance also extends to the Jonas Brothers-heavy Disney soundtrack "Camp Rock," which holds steady in the No. 8 position on sales of 50,000 copies, according to Billboard.
Down one notch to check in at No. 2 this week is the "Mamma Mia" soundtrack, which moved 110,000 copies. Kid Rock 's "Rock N Roll Jesus" moves up one rung to No. 3, on sales of 101,000.
Miley Cyrus ' "Breakout" sold 85,000 copies and slips two spots to No. 4, while Sugarland 's "Love on the Inside" falls from No. 3 to No. 5 on sales of 67,000.
Rounding out this week's Top 10 are "Tha Carter III" at No. 6, "Viva La Vida" at No. 7 and Rihanna 's "Good Girl Gone Bad" at No. 9.
