Limp Bizkit plans return with original line-up
After years of discord, particularly between frontman Fred Durst and guitarist Wes Borland, the original members of Limp Bizkit have buried the hatchet.
According to a press release issued today (2/12), Durst, Borland, bassist Sam Rivers, drummer John Otto, and DJ Lethal will kick off a world tour this spring.
"We decided we were more disgusted and bored with the state of heavy popular music than we were with each other," Durst and Borland said in a joint statement. "Regardless of where our separate paths have taken us, we recognize there is a powerful and unique energy with this particular group of people we have not found anywhere else. This is why Limp Bizkit is back."
The group's tour plans will begin with the overseas festival circuit--including Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park in Germany, with more in the works--as well as some headlining dates in Europe and Eastern Europe. Limp Bizkit hasn't previously played in Russia, Ukraine or the Baltic countries, but the group is planning to play concerts in those regions in late May.
A new album is also planned, which would be the original line-up's first full-length recording since 2000.
According to the group's publicist, Limp Bizkit's first three albums have sold over 20 million copies in the US alone, and another 13 million in the rest of the world.
