Bruce Springsteen adds summer dates before Giants Stadium farewell
Bruce Springsteen has added a couple new dates to his summer US itinerary with the E Street Band ahead of his scheduled five-night closing of New Jersey's Giant Stadium.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and his band, who late last month kicked off a European leg that runs through early August, will play a just-announced Aug. 19 show in Hartford, CT, followed by a pair of previously announced nights (8/22-23) in suburban Boston. A newly confirmed Aug. 25 date in Saratoga Springs, NY, ends the brief run-up to the New Jersey engagement.
Tickets for the Saratoga Springs date go on sale Friday (6/11), while on-sales for the Hartford show are set for Saturday (6/12), according to promoter Live Nation's website.
Springsteen's five-night Giants Stadium run will comprise the last-ever musical concerts to take place at the venue, which is scheduled to close at the end of the 2009 NFL season. Springsteen holds the record as the top-selling artist at the Meadowlands, boasting 56 sold-out shows with the E Street Band to date, according to his publicist.
Springsteen's international schedule can be found at his official website.
The Boss's latest album, "Working on a Dream," is the follow up to 2007's platinum-certified "Magic," and is Springsteen's 24th album. Produced by longtime Springsteen associate Brendan O'Brien, the set features 12 new compositions and two bonus tracks.
