The Psychedelic Furs Gallery Spotlight: Seattle, WA - Sept. 14, 2009

Post-punk/new wave veterans The Psychedelic Furs --consisting of brothers Richard (vocals) and Tim Butler (bass), Amanda Kramer on keys, Paul Garisto on Drums, Richard good on guitar and Mars Williams on sax--kicked off a low-key tour last week (9/8) in Chicago.

Rather than trying to regain the fame of their '80s heyday, the Butler brothers seem inspired and content basking in the band's mojo. New material has been scarce of late from the Furs, best known for hits like "Pretty In Pink," "Love My Way" and "The Ghost in You"; Even their most recent release (2001) was a greatest hits set, "Beautiful Chaos: Greatest Hits Live." No wonder fans are hoping the rumors are true--that a new Furs album is in the works.

In the meantime, there are at least 21 stops left on their current itinerary. Tomorrow (9/17) they will be at San Francisco’s Regency Ballroom before heading to Club Nokia in Los Angeles for a Friday show (9/18). LiveDaily photographer Elisa Sherman caught up with The Psychedelic Furs on Monday night (9/14) at Seattle's Moore Theate, and here are some of her shots.
