Evanescence Gallery Spotlight: New York, NY - Nov. 4, 2009

Grammy Award winning alt-rockers Evanescence seem to have found the key to a clear path ahead: touring relentlessly and relishing the response to their newest set, "The Open Door," which to date has reportedly sold over 2 million copies in the US alone.

Fronted by the gothic beauty Amy Lee, the group formed in Little Rock, AR, in 1995 after Lee met former guitarist Ben Moody. The pair tried out several names before they selected "Evanescence" from the word "evanesce," which means to vanish or dissipate--something the band is not likely to do any time soon. The current lineup core consists of Amy Lee (lead vocals, piano), Terry Balsamo (guitar) and Tim McCord (bass).

LiveDaily's New York City photographer Christopher Owyoung was on hand to get shots at a secret show by Evanescence last night (11/4), and here are the results.
