Alabama plots 2001 tour dates

Alabama has penciled in its first batch of tour dates in support of “When It All Goes South” (RCA), the veteran country act’s latest album. The group performed on Monday night (1/15) in West Palm Beach, Fla., and has a number of dates scattered throughout the coming months.

Touring resumes on Feb. 7, and most of the group's forthcoming dates consist of performances at livestock shows and state fairs. No April dates have been confirmed, but the group does plan to remain on the road from the 1st through the 15th of that month, according to a spokesperson. The band will then take a break from May through July.

The U.S. outing picks up again in August and September, and a coast-to-coast tour of Canada is planned for late September through Oct. 30, according to the spokesperson.

“When It All Goes South” was released on Tuesday (1/16). The album's title-track currently holds both the No. 17 spot on industry trade publication Radio & Records' latest country chart and No. 21 on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart.
