Nelly and St. Lunatics firm up itinerary, announce some cancellations
Nelly and his group St. Lunatics have tweaked the schedule for their summer U.S. tour, which spotlights St. Lunatics member Murphy Lee.
Organizers, citing scheduling conflicts, canceled planned shows in Ft. Lauderdale, FL; San Jose, CA; and Phoenix, and have confirmed a handful of additional dates. The confirmed itinerary at press time is below.
During the tour, St. Lunatics member Lee will perform songs from his debut solo album, "Murphy's Law," which hits stores in September. The St. Louis-based rappers also continue to push Nelly's sophomore solo effort, "Nellyville," and the 2001 St. Lunatics release "Free City."
Recently, Nelly has been trying to raise awareness of bone marrow donation after his sister, Jackie Donahue, was diagnosed with leukemia. Proceeds from the latest addition to his clothing line--Apple Bottom jeans--will support his Jes Us 4 Jackie Foundation, which aims to increase the number of donations to the National Marrow Donor Program Registry and to help to find a donor for Donahue.
On June 13, Nike issued a limited edition shoe in partnership with the GRAMMY®-winning, multi-platinum rapper. Nelly's "Air Derrty" shoes are available at Niketown stores in Chicago, Atlanta and New York, as well as Squad 1 Sports in St. Louis. The proceeds benefit 4Sho4Kids, Nelly's nonprofit foundation dedicated to improving the quality of life for children born with developmental disabilities.
