Mudvayne follows Summer Sanitarium stint with headlining run
Mudvayne , which graced the bill of Metallica's recently completed Summer Sanitarium Tour, sets out in September on a headlining jaunt that will also feature Powerman 5000 , V Shape Mind and Fingertight .
Alt-metal quartet Mudvayne is backing its sophomore release, last November's "The End of All Things to Come," which features the group's latest single, "World So Cold."
"The End of All Things to Come" also houses the cut "Not Falling," the music video for which the group released last month as a DVD-EP. The disc also includes a making-of-the-video segment, performance footage and more.
Known in the past for donning outlandish, sometimes gory, make-up and costumes, Mudvayne's members have recast themselves as aliens who are part of an extra-terrestrial plot to take over the earth, according the group's record-company biography.
As part of their transformation, the members have changed their already-bizarre names to even more outlandish monikers: singer Kud is now Chüd, guitarist Gurrg is now Güüg, drummer Spag is now Spüg and bassist Ryknow is now Rü-D.
Powerman 5000 is supporting its May 20 release, "Transform," which features the cut "Free." V Shape Mind's debut album, "Cul-De-Sac," surfaces on Sept. 9. Fingertight's inaugural effort, "In the Name of Progress," landed in stores in April.
