Briefly: Ozzy Osbourne, Michael Jackson, The Bad Plus, The White Stripes, Aaron Carter

Sharon Osbourne told ITV television that it will probably take six months for her husband, Ozzy, to recover from the injuries he suffered in a recent all-terrain vehicle crash.

"But he will be back, he's not going anywhere," she said. "He'll be ordering everybody around, don't worry."

Doctors said on Monday (12/15) that Osbourne is no longer on a ventilator to assist his breathing, and is speaking.

Formal charges will be filed in the child molestation case against Michael Jackson on Thursday afternoon (12/18) or Friday morning, Santa Barbara Country prosecutors said in a statement issued on Tuesday (12/16).

District Attorney Thomas Sneddon also said that prosecutors have hired Los Angeles-based public relations firm Tellem Worldwide to "reduce the number of calls coming into the District Attorney's office at this busy time."

Jazz trio The Bad Plus is set to issue "Give," the follow-up to its critically acclaimed 2003 debut, on March 9. Producer Tchad Blake (Pearl Jam, Peter Gabriel) is again at the helm.

Jack White of The White Stripes allegedly hit Jason Stollsteimer of fellow Detroit band The Von Bondies seven times at a Detroit nightclub on Saturday night (12/13), Stollsteimer reportedly said in a statement to police. According to Detroit news reports, White has filed a countercomplaint, in which he claims that he acted in self-defense.

A statement issued on Tuesday (12/16) by V2 Records read: "Jack White was involved in a barroom altercation over the weekend in Detroit. Jack White defended himself as any normal person would have under the circumstances."

The mother--and former manager--of teen star Aaron Carter , whom Carter has sued for allegedly taking $100,000 from his bank account, has issued a statement in her own defense.

"I did not want to involve the press in these unfortunate and very private family issues," Jane Carter's statement said. "However, since [estranged husband Bob Carter] released his irresponsible statement to reporters last week, I felt that it was necessary to state the facts rather than make false allegations designed to hurt me, my family and my son's career. I am confident that the truth will come to light in a court of law."

She added: "I believe Bob's character assassination of me is simply a desperate attempt to gain sole custody of Aaron, to control Aaron's money and therefore attempt to cover up Bob's mismanagement of funds," added Jane. "I am a devoted mother and I am focused on doing what's best for my children."
