Nelly set to release two new albums on same day

St. Louis rapper Nelly has set a Sept. 14 release date for two full albums of new material, titled "Sweat" and "Suit."

"I had so much material that at first I thought about releasing a double CD, but then I thought it would be better to release two albums separately to show fans the best of both sides of 'Nellyville,'" the rapper said in a statement.

"Sweat" features more "up-tempo club bangers that are more street-oriented songs like 'Hot in Herre,' 'Air Force Ones' or '#1,'" while "Suit" is more "'grown and sexy,' along the lines of 'Dilemma' or 'Ride Wit Me,'" according to Nelly.

"When I first came out I was representing my city hard," he continued. "Now I'm trying to explain so much more. I think both albums show my growth creatively and personally."

The Neptunes-produced track "Flap Your Wings" will serve as the lead-off single from "Sweat," while "My Place"--featuring R&B singer Jaheim--will be the first cut from "Suit."

The two albums follow Nelly's 2002 sophomore release, "Nellyville," which is certified six-times platinum for sales of 6 million copies in the U.S., according to Universal Records. His 2000 debut, "Country Grammar," is certified nine-times platinum.

Cumulatively, Nelly has sold almost 30 million singles and albums worldwide, according to a press release. That total includes sales of "Nellyville" and "Country Grammar," as well as last year's remix set, "Da Derrty Versions," and "Free City," the 2001 debut from Nelly's side-project, St. Lunatics.
