Linkin Park, Jay-Z, No Doubt, others to perform at tsunami benefit
Linkin Park , Jay-Z , No Doubt , Blink 182, Ozzy Osbourne , Jurassic 5, Story of the Year, The Crystal Method and Camp Freddy are among the artists slated to perform at a Feb. 18 tsunami benefit.
The show will feature a joint performance from Linkin Park and Jay-Z, and Camp Freddy will back rocker Ozzy Osbourne, according to organizers.
The concert is set to take place at the Arrowhead Pond arena in Anaheim, CA, and proceeds will be funneled to the ongoing relief efforts in South Asia and surrounding countries via Music for Relief, an organization that Linkin Park founded earlier this year.
"Music for Relief has played a vital role in helping to get aid to the people who most need it," Linkin Park frontman Brad Delson said in a statement. "We are deeply honored to participate in what will likely be our biggest and most powerful event to date."
Tickets--the cost of which will range from $85 to $125 plus service charges--will go on sale Friday (2/11) via Ticketmaster; Ticketmaster will donate all profits from service charges to Music for Relief's aid effort, according to a press release. (Ticketmaster is liveDaily's parent company.)
"A disaster of this magnitude that affects so many people forces you to ask yourself, 'What can I do to help?,'" No Doubt guitarist Tony Kanal said in a statement. "We were compelled by that question to come together for this show and do what we do best to make the most impact in both dollars and awareness. We are looking forward to giving the fans a great show, and in return help raise needed funds that will head to South Asia to rebuild the broken communities of our brothers and sisters on the other side of the globe."
