Briefly: Mike Watt, Adema, Metallica, Wakarusa

Mike Watt and his band the Secondmen are set to tour Europe April 4-May 15; the itinerary is posted at Watt's website.

Watt will then embark on a series of shows with Iggy & The Stooges, for whom he's played bass since the group reunited for live shows in 2003. After that, he'll begin work on a new solo album.

Bakersfield, CA, rock band Adema will soon head for the Persian Gulf to perform free shows for--and participate in meet-and-greets with--troops stationed at several locations in the region.

Adema's trip is one of the latest organized by the USO and Armed Forces Entertainment.

The Metallica documentary "Some Kind of Monster" won Best Documentary at last weekend's Independent Spirit Awards.

The second annual Wararusa Music and Camping Festival in Lawrence, KS, will feature more than 50 acts playing multiple stages. Among the confirmed artists are String Cheese Incident , Wilco , Gov't Mule, North Mississippi Allstars, Umphrey's McGee, STS9, Jazz Mandolin Project, Particle, Ozomatli, Big Head Todd & The Monsters, Galactic, Karl Denison's Tiny Universe, Martin Sexton and Little Feat.
