Bruce Springsteen plans more full-album shows for New York

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will perform two classic albums in their entirety during a pair of appearances this weekend in New York's Madison Square Garden.

The Boss' Big Apple fans will see 1973's "The Wild, The Innocent and the E Street Shuffle" and 1980's "The River" performed in full for the first time ever by Springsteen and company, according to a press release. In addition to the complete album performances, fans will also hear Springsteen's traditional live set, which draws on material from throughout the rock icon's career.

The New York City dates kick off the final stretch of Springsteen's latest world tour, which concludes Nov. 22 in Buffalo, NY. Cities in the final weeks of the outing include Cleveland (11/10), Milwaukee (11/18) and Nashville, TN (11/18). Details are included below.

E Street Band guitarist Steven Van Zandt hinted in September during a recent conference call with reporters that the current dates could be the last opportunity for fans to see Springsteen and the band for quite some time to come.

"We are going to take a break," Van Zandt said during the teleconference. "I don't know how long, one year, year-and-a-half, two years off. This is a good time to see us. We may not be as pretty, [but] we seem to be getting better in funny ways."

On the road, Springsteen continues to support "Working on a Dream," his 16th studio album and the follow-up to 2007's "Magic." The new set debuted at No. 1, making it the ninth chart-topping album of Springsteen's 40-year recording career.

Springsteen canceled his scheduled Oct. 26 show in Kansas City, MO, following the death of his cousin and assistant road manager, Lenny Sullivan, who was found dead in his Kansas City hotel room at the age of 36.

"A warm and sensitive person, he was beloved by Bruce, the Band, the crew, and the entire Thrill Hill family," read a statement posted at Springsteen's website.
