Carlos Santana raises funds to feed hungry children

Carlos Santana has teamed-up with WHY (World Hunger Year) to help raise money, food and awareness for America's hungry children, according to a press release. WHY--which supports grassroots organizations that create self-reliance, economic justice and equal access to nutritious and affordable food--will be coordinating the effort in tandem with Santana's Las Vegas residency, "Supernatural Santana: A Trip Through the Hits," which plays at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

During the show's eight November performances, concertgoers who bring five non-perishable food items or make a $5 donation to the Three Square Food Bank will receive a $5 gift certificate to participating restaurants inside the Hard Rock Hotel.

"This year above all others in recent memory is an important one to help our brothers and sisters of this family we call the human race," Santana said in a statement. "I encourage you to help and to participate in this more than worthwhile drive."
