Free Jason Mraz show set for San Diego

Jason Mraz is performing at a free concert Oct. 11 at Cricket Wireless Amphitheater in San Diego as a way of saying thank you to his friends and fans in Southern California for their support over the past 10 years, according to a statement on his website.

The North San Diego County resident has invited Brett Dennen to open the show, with Bushwalla hosting.

All 10,000 unreserved lawn seats for the show will be available at no cost. However, for $1, concert-goers can purchase a ticket for one of the 9,000+ reserved seats, with no service charges.

A limited number of $75 VIP tickets will be sold, and 30 pairs of orchestra level seats, which include a meet-and-greet with Mraz after the show, will be auctioned off, according to SignOnSanDiego.com.

To thwart ticket scalpers, the credit card used to buy the tickets must be presented to gain entrance to the concert.

The concert also will support three of Mraz's favorite charities: Surfrider Foundation, VH1 Save the Music and San Diego Youth Services.
