Guns N' Roses plot Canadian dates, tease more tour plans
Guns N' Roses will trek through Canada early next year as part of a world tour that will possibly include shows in Southeast Asia, according to a press release.
The 13-city outing kicks off Jan. 13 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and stretches through a Feb. 4 date in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Details are included below.
Tickets for the shows have not yet gone on sale, but prices will range from $49.50 to $89.50 in Canadian dollars, according to Ticketmaster's Canadian website. (LiveDaily is an operating unit of Ticketmaster Entertainment, which also owns Ticketmaster.)
According to Rolling Stone magazine, the Canadian dates will follow a late-year tour of Southeast Asia, which will kick off Dec. 11 in Taiwan. The Canadian shows are part of the "Guns N' Roses Chinese Democracy World Tour," according to a press release issued by the band.
After more than 10 years of delays and hype, the GN'R's latest opus, "Chinese Democracy," finally surfaced late last year, entering The Billboard 200 at No. 3. The set marked the first album of original material from the band since 1991's "Use Your Illusion I" and "Use Your Illusion II," though frontman Axl Rose is the only remaining member of the group from that era.
In an online chat with fans last year, Rose said he had at least one more album's worth of material ready to go, but added, "For now, we'll concentrate and keep our focus on this album."
GN'R will head out on the road with new guitarist DJ Ashba, formerly of Sixx AM and Beautiful Creatures, who replaces Robin Finck; Finck left the group last year to return to Nine Inch Nails.
