Indie rockers Metric [ tickets ] have lined up a headlining tour in their native Canada this fall as they continue to push their latest studio album, "Fantasies."

The group, which originally formed in Toronto, kicks off the excursion Oct. 15 in Kitchener, Ontario. After a pair of shows (10/17-18) in Montreal, the band heads back to its home province of Ontario for a few more dates before heading to Western Canada to finish off the trek in early November. "Fantasies," the band's latest album, bowed at No. 1 in April on Billboard's Top Heatseekers chart, peaking at No. 76 on The Billboard 200.

The new album, the band's fourth studio effort, was produced by Gavin Brown and Jimmy Shaw, and mixed by the band's Grammy-nominated friend and collaborator John O'Mahony (Coldplay, The Strokes). The set is Metric's first full-length effort consisting of all-new material since 2005's "Live It Out."

"Sick Muse," the album's third single, hit radio stations in early June. The album has been shortlisted for the 2009 Polaris Music Prize, which is awarded annually to the best full-length Canadian album.
