Talib Kweli, Hi-Tek set for second 'Rock the Bells' segment

Taking to the road to the first time as a duo, rappers Talib Kweli and Hi-Tek lead the lineup of this summer's "Rock the Bells Presents" hip-hop tour.

The pair, performing as Reflection Eternal, will also be joined by Slaughterhouse, Slum Village and Supernatural on the trek, which kicks off Aug. 10 in San Diego, CA, and runs through an Aug. 31 Washington, DC, date.

Pete Rock will host all dates, and Raekwon and Tech N9ne will perform in select markets. Details are included below.

The trek is an addition to the ongoing "Rock the Bells International" tour, which launched in June boasting a lineup that features GZA, Nas, Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley, The Roots, Common and the Knux.

Kweli and Hi-Tek, whose real name is Tony Cottrell, collaborated as Reflection Eternal to produce the 2000 release "Train of Thought." During the upcoming tour, Kweli and Hi-Tek will each perform solo material, along with cuts from "Train of Thought" and some new tracks from their forthcoming new album, "Revolutions Per Minute."

Hip-hop supergroup Slaughterhouse--featuring Crooked I, Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz and Royce Da 5'9"--will be supporting their self-titled debut album, which hits stores Aug. 11.

Slum Village will remain on the bill despite the July 31 death of group member Titus "Baatin" Glover. The 35-year-old performer was found dead Saturday (8/1) in Detroit. A cause of death has not been determined pending the results of toxicology reports, according to local authorities.

"Baatin will be missed," Slum Village's T3 said in a press statement. "I'm glad we got a chance to work together before he passed. We lost another Slum soldier, a dear friend and a brother. He touched many lives."
