U2 to perform at Berlin wall site

Berlin's Bradenburg Gate will be the site of a free U2 performance on Nov. 4 that will be a part of the 2009 MTV Europe Music Awards.

Free tickets for the event, described on U2's website as a "prelude to the Fall of The Wall celebrations in Berlin," were snapped up quickly this morning. The performance will air during the EMAs, which take place this year in Berlin.

"It'll be an exciting spot to be in, 20 years almost to the day since the wall came down," U2 manager Paul McGuinness said in a statement. "Should be fun."

Earlier this week, U2 confirmed plans to bring it's 360 tour back to North America in 2010.
