Currently gearing up for a summer tour that gets underway later this week, country singer Tim McGraw has unveiled details about his forthcoming album "Southern Voice."
The new set, which follows 2007's "Let It Go," is due in stores this fall, according to McGraw's publicist, though no specific release date has been announced. The album features the lead-off single "It's a Business Doing Pleasure With You."
Written by Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger and singer/songwriter Brett James, "It's a Business Doing Pleasure With You" hit radio stations yesterday (6/30). A press release describes the cut as "an up-tempo, tongue-in-cheek tale about the price of love.
With the release of "Southern Voice" still months away, McGraw continues to work the road behind "Let It Go," his ninth consecutive album to debut at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart. On Friday (7/3), the singer sets out on a brief summer tour. The bulk of the 13-date run takes place in July, with three subsequent shows set in August and September. Details are included below.
In addition to his musical pursuits, McGraw continues to nurture his acting career. In November, he'll return to the big screen in "The Blind Side," a film about Michael Oher, the University of Mississippi offensive lineman who overcame a troubled childhood with the help of a well-to-do family, according to a press release. The flick--which is based on the bestselling 2006 novel of the same name by Michael Lewis--the flick also stars Sandra Bullock.
Last year, McGraw co-starred alongside Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon in "Four Christmases." The country-music superstar also starred in 2006's "Flicka," and had parts in "Friday Night Lights" and "The Kingdom."
McGraw has sold more than 40 million records, and has racked up 30 No. 1 singles, three Grammys, 14 Academy of Country Music Awards, 11 Country Music Association Awards and three People's Choice Awards, according to a press release.
